NC Stop Human Trafficking has been working for more than 10 years in the state to build capacity to better serve victims/survivors and prevent human trafficking. From educating the community on the reality of human trafficking to helping professionals, we have been at the forefront of the anti-human trafficking movement in the state. We will one day see the eradication of human trafficking in North Carolina, but not without your help.

How We Do It:

  • Building Capacity through Collaboration: NC Stop Human Trafficking works tirelessly each day to build capacity in North Carolina. The goal is for support agencies to have the resources to provide victims/survivors with the assistance they need, not only in a crisis but to achieve long-term success.
  • Education: NC Stop Human Trafficking also educates and trains helping professionals from health care providers, counselors, foster parents, caregivers, to social workers, law enforcement officers, and domestic violence/sexual assault advocates. This training enables them to respond compassionately and through a trauma-sensitive framework to survivors of sex and labor trafficking.
  • Advocate: NC Stop Human Trafficking advocates for stronger anti-human trafficking policies and statutes to ensure that survivors and victims are served well and at the forefront of policy decisions, but also to prevent human trafficking in North Carolina.
  • Introducing Fair Trade Into the Local Market: NC Stop Human Trafficking also introduces fair trade products into the local market. When consumers demand products made without child labor and slave labor and the workers producing/harvesting those products make a fair and living wage then demand for forced labor will decline. Hopefully, one day labor trafficking will be eradicated.
