This class will not cover basic human trafficking information.

Please be sure to apply for a free SPOTLIGHT account. If your police agency is already using it and you have an account, check to make sure you can log on without issues. If your agency is not using this, please use this link to enroll, https://spotlight.thorn.org/request-access. All that is needed is for the agency head to request access in letterhead so that your agency can be assigned and Agency ID.
Computers will be provided in order for you to complete practical exercises.If the attendee has a computer with access to their record systems and/ or other law enforcement databases (CJ Leads, LInX, etc), please bring that computer.
Certificate of Completion:
CEU's will be granted from Wake Tech. You will complete a separate registration onsite to receive credit.

Senior Detective Rob Pereira
Senior Detective Rob Pereira is a 19-year veteran of the Raleigh Police Department.Rob is an experienced investigator who has conducted investigations ranging from Homicide and Drug Investigations to his passion, Human Trafficking.He has been fortunate to have received formal training and mentorship from highly experienced and talented Human Trafficking investigators and prosecutors which has assisted in the formation of his collaborative style of case initiation, development, and management.Rob understands and teaches the necessity of victim centered investigations and collaboration with local, state, and federal investigative agencies as well as prosecutors, victim advocates and non-governmental organizations.
Rob has honed his ability to identify, locate and rescue victims of human trafficking through dozens of investigations which have led to the arrest and conviction of their traffickers and conducted hotel operations which targeted the demand side of commercial sex.
