Session#3: Recovery is Possible

This session expands on the similarities of the vulnerabilities that can lead to victimization, but also perpetration. In this session, attendees will hear from a recovered, compulsive sex buyer and a survivor.

Introduction to Panelists:

Amanda Pulley

Amanda Pulley has seven years of experience working in anti-trafficking. Beginning her career as an advocate, she quickly realized her passion for impacting lives. Her strategic insight into typical advocacy methods (some successful, some not) led her to build greatly improved Advocacy and Outreach programs for ten different organizations. Writing the program, building out policies and procedures, training staff & volunteers, and seeing participants sparked her interest in practical training. Eventually, Amanda’s work ethic, insights, presentation skills, and curriculum writing ability led to her desire to train human trafficking advocates in her methodology - moving the academic knowledge into practical application.

John Pulley

John Pulley entered the anti-human trafficking field four years ago. Invited to be a keynote speaker at Shared Hope International's Just Conference, he learned of the horrors of human trafficking for the first time. Within a year, he left his career in sales and began working to end demand. Known for his unique approach to tackling the demand issue, John is a keynote speaker for conferences and events across the country. John and his wife Amanda formed Pulley Consulting LLC to strategically assess and practically train human trafficking advocates and build a program to reach buyers who are driving human trafficking. John is also a co-founder of ManAlive Expedition - a raw, honest journey into the desires of the heart of men. His work with over 1,000 men in 12 years has shaped and guided a passion for seeing demand end by transforming the behaviors of men through vulnerability, authenticity, and an understanding of their identity as beloved sons.
